This is our help page. Below you will find explanations and instructions on how to find your way around and how to get the most from this site.

Site Map

This site has been designed in three clear sections or 'zones'. You can enter each zone from the home page or from within each zone by using the buttons on the left hand side of the each page - they are colour coded. Pink for the Family Zone, blue for the Employer Zone and lilac for the Awards Zone. You can go to any of the pages in the map below by clicking on the link.

2. Minimum viewing conditions.

This site has been designed for:
PC and Mac platforms: Windows 95 and above, Mac OS 7.6 and above.
Monitors resolutions of 800x600 minimum. (You are currently running at
Monitor colours set to 256 or more.
Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator Browser versions 4 and above.

3. How to upgrade your browser.

If you have an older browser elements of this site may not display properly. You can use the links below to download the latest version of your browser. Instructions for downloading and installing are provided on the websites.

Internet Explorer for Windows users
Internet Explorer for Mac users

Mozilla Foundation provides three free browsers:
Mozilla - for PCs - which includes mail, news and chat clients plus an HTML composer.
Mozilla Firebird - for PCs - browser only.
Camino - for Mac users.

Opera:
This browser works on both PCs and Macs and is particularly helpful for people who require accessibility features.
There is a free version available with an advert banner, to lose the ad banner and get support costs about £22.

Netscape Navigator:
Note that Netscape 7.1 is still available but no longer under active development.

4. How to adjust the settings of your monitor - resolution and colour settings.

PC

1. Right-click on the desktop and select [Properties].
2. Click on the [Settings] tab at the top.
3. Use the pull-down menu to adjust the number of colours. If your computer and monitor can support more than 256 colours, you will be able to select thousands or millions.
4. Use the slider to adjust the screen resolution to a higher setting - ideally 800x600 as a minimum.
5. Click [Apply]. You will get around 15 seconds to see if you are happy with the set-up.
6. Click [OK] to confirm the settings.

MAC

1. Use the apple menu and go to control panels. Select [Monitors].
2. Change the colour and resolution settings and click [OK] .
Note: You can also change these settings through the control strip.

5. Searching this site

1. Use the main search facility by clicking on the icon in the top right side of each page.
2. You can search using any keyword.
3. The results page will return a list of results with a brief description of text and the title of the page.
4. You can link through to the specific page from the results page.
